Honorary President A.R. Rahman Attends Sold-Out Grease: The Musical

On Friday 20 June, we welcomed our Honorary President, A.R. Rahman, to Trinity Laban for a Musical Theatre production of Grease: The Musical at Blackheath Halls.

This year’s production of Grease: The Musical was a resounding success, with over 1,000 tickets sold across six performances. Our second-year Musical Theatre students brought energy, charisma, and immense talent to every show, delighting audiences with classic hits like Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, and You’re the One That I Want.

A.R. Rahman joined us for the Friday night performance and stayed afterward to meet the cast and creative team. His warmth, generosity, and encouragement made a powerful impact on our students, and his reflections on the show were deeply appreciated.

Trinity Laban Principal, Anthony Bowne said: “A.R. Rahman’s presence was an unforgettable boost for our students and a powerful reminder of the global artistic community our conservatoire is part of. Bravo to everyone involved – this was Trinity Laban at its finest.”
